England: Day 8

We went to Salisbury and Stonehenge today. It was about a 1.5 to 2 hour bus ride there from Kensington, which passed quickly. It was nice seeing something other than the city for a change. The English country side is so pretty and green with lush rolling hills!!!

Salisbury was a quaint little town with a huge cathedral hidden right in the middle. The cathedral has the tallest spire in all of the UK and houses one of the four original copies of the Magna Carta. Stonehenge was pretty interesting. We didn’t get to walk up close to the stones but got the general feeling from a short distance.

Salisbury

There's a TK Maxx in Salisbury

Walkers are equivalent to our Lays chips with one exception, we have flavors like Original and BBQ, they have flavors like Roasted Chicken, Hickory Bacon, and Prawn. Meat flavored chips...Yum.

Another Kenzie look alike.

Salisbury Cathedral.

One of those flags was actually used in the Revolutionary War. It belonged to the 62nd Regiment which attacked Washington.

This is our tour guide, Nigel, talking about the oldest working modern clock in the world.
The clock dates back to 1386.

The three little hills on the horizon are actually Round Barrows, which are hemispherical mounds that either cover or contain one or more human burials.

Sheep.
